How often do I change my air filter?
You should check your air filter every month and change on a regular basis.  The frequency depends on the quality of your filter.

How often should I have my air conditioning and furnace checked?
You should schedule a yearly maintenance check on your air conditioning and furnace.  It’s best to schedule a check on your a/c before the summer and your furnace before winter.  Having a yearly maintenance check on your system will save you from having your system break down when you need it the most.  This thorough check-up will help to ensure your system is working efficiently, safely and reliably day-in and day-out.

What should I do if I have a frozen pipe?
Open the faucet at the end of the pipe and close the valve that runs into it. Then check for holes, cracks or breaks. A pinhole can be repaired just by wrapping with electrical or duct tape; a hairline crack can be sealed by covering with a pipe clamp (aka pipe sleeve); for a really big crack you’ll need to replace that section of pipe. If you’ve been able to repair the pipe without replacing it, then apply heat to the frozen section, using one of several methods: use a hairdryer, wrap the pipe in heat tape or an electrical blanket. If you’re in a pinch, you can even wrap rags around the pipe and pour hot water over them (this might take a while). Once water starts dripping out the faucet, it’s time to let the water start flowing again. Then to make sure this problem doesn’t happen again, get some pipe insulation, electric pipe-heating wire or pipe tape to keep your pipes warm and safe all winter long.

Do you carry parts in your service vehicles?
Yes, we carry an inventory of parts in our service vehicles so we can fix almost any plumbing or HVAC issue the first time.

Which way do I insert my furnace filter?
Your furnace filter should insert with the arrow pointing towards the furnace.

Should I remove my garden hose in the winter?
Definitely!  Disconnect your garden hose before the temperatures begin to drop below freezing.  This will allow your outside spigots to drain and help avoid frozen pipes, which can result in water damage to your home.

Are all of your service vehicles radio dispatched?
Yes.  All of our drivers are in constant communication with our office. We have over 80 trucks that are dispatched to jobsites and service calls every day.

When should I winterize my home?
Winterizing should be done before any water system is exposed to prolonged freezing temperatures. Winterizing not only helps to keep pipes from freezing, it also conserves water.  When a frozen pipe bursts, the ensuing water damage can be extensive and costly -- a nightmare for the unsuspecting homeowner. We recommend scheduling your winterization needs in early fall.

What are your hours?
We are open Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.  The Showroom is open Monday through Friday 7am-6pm and Saturday 8am-4pm.

If my furnace isn’t working is there something I can check before calling a professional?
Absolutely!  Sometime it is a simple reason for the equipment failure.  We recommend that before you call a professional to check your breakers and the on/off switch on the side of the furnace to make sure it hasn’t been accidentally shut off.

Do you charge for replacement or remodel estimates?
No.
